Job Description :
- We are looking for an experienced candidate to lead our growing Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence development & operation function at Pune location. This role is to oversee all the DW/BI/MDM technical development work,
production support activities, changes and maintenance of applications for various business functions across VERITAS.
- This is a unique opportunity to lead a team and provide an immediate impact on our DW/BI platforms that serve our internal customers. This person should be able to work collaboratively with US-based Managers, Architects. Engagement Leads and IT cross-functional teams in understanding the business requirements, scope, timelines and timely delivery of DW/BI projects.
What you will be doing?
- Provide deep technical leadership, guidance and support in the design development and delivery of Data Warehouse and Business intelligence projects.
- Manage and grow a high performing team consisting of full-time employees, consultants, and managed services through mentoring, hiring, and creating development plans for your associates.
- Manages new development projects and supports maintenance and enhancement activities.
- Manages a team of professionals supporting development and maintenance for assigned business functions.
- Responsible for review of all technical objects from Development, Test to Production schemas.
- Responsible to review technical design documentation to ensure development is being built and tested according to technical standards.
- Participate in meetings with decision-makers, systems owners, and end-users to document business requirements and goals.
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting, analysis, ETL, data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple terms.
- Provide support & coverage during Month-end, Quarter and Year-end activities.
What qualifications do you need to succeed in this role?
- Overall 14-15 years of IT work experience including Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence field.
- At least 4 years of experience in hiring, managing and mentoring the activities of a team of DW/BI Developers.
- Minimum 5-7 yrs. experience in the requirement, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of Large/Medium size data warehouse projects using dimensional data modeling techniques.
- Minimum 2 yrs. working with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka and HBase, etc.
- Experience implementing projects on AWS or Azure platforms.
- 4+ years of designing, developing and architecting DW/BI solutions, with hands-on experience in Oracle data integrator ETL tool & OBIEE reporting tool desired.
- Minimum 5+ experience in designing and developing database applications using SQL, PL/SQL procedures/functions using Oracle RDBMS version 11g or 12 and Unix Shell scripts for high volume data warehouse.
- Knowledge of pre-built Oracle BI Apps ETL jobs for Oracle business analytics warehouse (OBAW) and in-depth knowledge of Oracle BI APPS 11.1.1.9 is a plus.
- Strong experience in Oracle ERP packages, modules, order management or CRM salesforce is required.
- Knowledge of Oracle Sales & Service Cloud and MDM.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms i.e. AWS or Azure and implementation experience with Data Lake and Big data solutions.
- Experience with cloud databases i.e. Redshift or Snowflake databases.
- Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning for DW/BI tools & platform.
- Master or bachelor's degree in Information Technology / Computer Science preferred.
