Primary Skills :

Role Description :

- Software Product Development work is the primary job function and experience in Product companies is expected

- The Data Platform Senior Developer would need to have at least 15 years of relevant experience and demonstrate excellent hands-on aptitude in developing and delivering large-scale distributed data processing platforms using technologies such as Spark, Hadoop Ecosystem (including Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR), Relational Databases, Data Warehouse platforms like Snowflake or Redshift and enterprise systems such as Salesforce, SAP etc.

- Needs to be strong in Web Application development using Java, Spring Boot and that is assumed to be a given.

Skills & Responsibilities :

- Software Product Development background is a must

- 10+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience developing products using Big Data processing platforms like Spark, Hive, Hadoop etc. and a passion to work in challenging problems in this area

- Strong data modeling and data retrieval with relational databases like MySQL, Postgres as well as NoSQL databases such as Redis, MongoDB

- 10+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience developing modern web application backends using Java, Spring Boot, Relational Databases, Data Warehouses, NoSQL databases and Text Search engines

- Strong Python programming and Shell scripting experience on Linux

- Expertise developing enterprise-level web applications and RESTful APIs with demonstrable production-scale experience

- Demonstrate strong design and programming skills using JSON, Web Services, SQL in Unix and Windows environments using open source frameworks and libraries

- Experience working with tools like Git, Maven, Gradle in environments where releases and deployments have to be carried out at a fast pace

- Experience with development and deployment to Cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud etc.

- Passion to stay on top of the latest happenings in the tech world and an attitude to bring those into play to solve business problems end-to-end in a startup environment

- Fully hands-on and able to lead junior developers

- Strong agile/scrum development experience in startup environments

- Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed project teams

Education : Bachelor- s/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field is required
