Location : Pune Role
To provide guidance and direction to the engineering teams to bring in the efficiency and modern engineering practices in client projects. To build high performance and empowered engineering team through leading by example and by keeping the standards high to drive excellence. This person would be responsible for driving the excellence through innovation, best practices, and industry standards.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the engineering teams and drive excellence through best practices in coding, review, automation and development
- Drive modern ways of engineering through innovative and efficient processes
- Build high performance engineering teams and raise their bar through continuous competency development program
- Responsible for successful and quality deliverables from engineering teams to our global clients
- Collaboration with engineering teams from other company markets, participate in client calls to demonstrate thought leadership
- Automate processes, methodologies and build new frameworks for client POCs
- Build and execute modern and business focused training plan to improve the competency and build new capabilities for IWS India
- Prepare engineering roadmap aligned with business priorities and execute it as per timeline agreed
- Responsible for productivity, efficiency and competency for engineering teams
- To ensure code quality standards are in place and being implemented. Code is produced to the highest standard
- Responsible for internal IT systems, and build world class systems for internal usage, efficiency gain across the Organization
- Write blogs, deliver webinars, meet-ups for sharing best practices and demonstrate thought leadership for IWS India office
Skills :
- Minimum experience: 15+ years in global software companies and minimum 5+ years- experience in leading large engineering teams
- Leadership experience in managing the large engineering team, preferably in commerce technology and/or digital marketing
- In depth knowledge and practical experience of modern engineering
- Cross browser and platform development experience, including web development for mobile and tablet
- A detailed understanding of Internet technologies (HTTP, caching, CDNs, DNS)
- Experienced in development practices such as source code control and change management, and documentation
- Broad knowledge in digital space with exposure to content management systems,marketing systems, CRM & commerce
- Experience of conducting discovery phases and client workshops to explore technical and solution requirements.
- Experience with managing technical software projects with good understanding of the business processes.
- Candidate shall have experience in working in Agile environment.
- Thorough understanding of software engineering practices and methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of any two of the following platforms
- Salesforce Commerce Cloud
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Salesforce CRM
- Adobe Experience Manager
- Sitecore
- Cloud Craze
- Drupal
- X/HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML and SQL
- Modern Databases
- A thorough knowledge of best practices of Quality Assurance and control
- Practical experience of developing sites using responsive design
- Excellent verbal and written English
- Should have experience in Team management skills, team accountability and reporting,customer facing skills and consulting skills.
- Knowledge of Web accessibility according to WAI guidelines and W3C coding standards
- An understanding of site performance issues and strategies to optimize
- Experience of modern JavaScript frameworks such as Backbone, Angular
- Experience of JavaScript libraries such as Modernizr, YepNope, Underscore, Require etc.
Preferred :
- Retail and e-commerce exposure
- Exposure to Agile/SCRUM framework
- Salesforce commerce cloud or ATG or IBM WebSphere Commerce
- Sterling Commerce MCF (OMS) or equivalent

Education :
- Minimum Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline - mandatory
- MCA or other Master's degree and any other technical qualifications - beneficial
